Meet the Dentists of Southeast Texas Dental Center

Jodi Lee Kahla, DDS

Jasper is the hometown of Dr. Jodi Kahla, who attended Texas A&M University and graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She’s had her own practice since 2003. In 2012, she partnered with Dr. Steven Spencer to open Southeast Texas Dental Center.

In 2004, Dr. Kahla received the Jasper Chamber of Commerce Young Person of the Year award. She’s a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the Dental Society of Southeast Texas. She loves interacting with patients, and improving their quality of life through better oral health.

Dr. Kahla enjoys spending time with her husband Bill, and their children, Billy, Matt, and Sydni. She also loves rodeoing.

Steven G. Spencer, DDS

Dr. Steven Spencer was born and raised in Jasper, Texas. Dr. Spencer enjoys learning new dental techniques and procedures that improve comfort levels and treatments. He feels that he’s blessed to be in such a wonderful profession where he can make a positive difference in the lives of his patients.

Dr. Spencer attended Texas A&M University. In 1992, he graduated from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. He then joined the United States Air Force, where he completed his advanced education in general dentistry and continued to serve in the Air Force as a general dentist. In 1995, Dr. Spencer was awarded the United States Air Force Achievement Medal and then returned to Jasper to open his private practice. After spending another five years in the reserves, Dr. Spencer was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force.

In January 2012, Dr. Spencer formed a new practice with his partner, Dr. Jodi L. Kahla. Dr. Spencer is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the Dental Society of Southeast Texas. With his wife, Wendy, he enjoys hunting, fishing, gardening, and exercising.
